Service job proof

Local HTTP jobs already make agentic deck production observable.

Paralleliz has a local HTTP job service today for agent-submitted render work. It is file-backed, observable through the TUI and local browser-console prototype, and ready for local automation pilots; hosted browser workspace management remains planned.

Lifecycle

States match the backend API contract.

pending

Queued but not started.

Watch queue depth or cancel before execution.

running

Worker is loading, validating, explaining, or rendering.

Read events and wait for durable stage boundaries.

completed

Output and validation artifacts were written.

Download PPTX, manifest, validation report, and normalized data.

failed

Validation or rendering failed.

Inspect validation errors, event log, and submitted request.

cancelled

Cancelled before execution or at a safe boundary.

Resubmit after adjusting request or priority.

API fixture

Submit once, poll state, download artifacts.

Start service

uv run python visuals_service.py --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8765 --jobs-dir jobs --concurrency 2 --retention-days 14 --keep-last 25

Lifecycle fixture

Status, events, and artifact manifest proof.

This is a sanitized service-contract proof fixture, not a live browser console capture. Live local management exists through the HTTP API, TUI, and the local browser-console prototype; hosted workspace management remains planned.

Gaps

What must exist before a production browser console.

Current limits

  • The local browser-console prototype is available; it is not a hosted, authenticated, or shared team workspace.
  • Job listing has bounded cursor pagination and state filters; batch, archetype, date, and source filters remain to be added.
  • Artifact indexing is file-backed and should move to explicit metadata before cloud hosting.
  • Cancellation is honored before execution and between durable stages, not inside a PowerPoint render call.

Backend gaps

  • GET /jobs filters by state, batch, archetype, date, and source system.
  • Richer batch, archetype, date, and source-system job filters.
  • Measured token and provider-cost telemetry attached automatically to every job; batch totals currently aggregate caller estimates.

Truth in messaging

Sell Paralleliz as a local-first engine with HTTP automation and a local browser console today. Label hosted persistence, shared batch management, and team workspace features as planned until the backend contracts are implemented and tested.
